About

The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Fire Sprinkler Association was established to increase the exchange of information pertinent to merit shop fire sprinkler contractors in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. We are based in the Puget Sound area of Washington, where we hold four business meetings per year. The meeting schedule varies depending on the outside commitments of the officers but we try for the first Tuesday of February, May, August, and November. All members and interested parties are encouraged to attend. You can find meeting dates, times and locations on our home page, or contact us if you would like to receive email updates.

Additionally we sponsor a yearly essay scholarship contest in conjunction with the national AFSA and other local chapters and affiliates. The contest is open to all high school seniors. Bi-annually we co-sponsor, in association with the local chapter of the National Fire Sprinkler Association and members of the fire service, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of fire sprinkler equipment, a benefit softball tournament for the “Send a Kid to Camp” program of the Northwest Burn Foundation. Since its conception the tournament has raised over $100,000 to help children scarred physically, psychologically and emotionally from fire to start the long road to recovery.

Aided by a matching grant from AFSA, materials donations from manufacturers and suppliers, and labor donated by local members, we built a sprinkler riser demonstration trailer for training purposes. It is currently garaged at the Woodinville, Washington Fire Department and is available for use by members and fire departments.
